Day of Jewish Women’s Healing

The Day of Women’s Healing will connect Professional Jewish woman, passionate in their expertise, with Jewish women from various ages, backgrounds, religious observance and social status. The day will be filled with exciting and useful lectures and workshops. Featured will be Dr Jennifer Green, a Naturopathic Doctor whose practice is in Bloomfield Hills. She is board certified in Naturopathic Oncology. She provides consultations for integrative cancer care, survivor care, cancer prevention and mental wellness. Her lecture will discuss the use of food as a tool of maintaining well being. Dr Carolyn Daitch is the director of the Center for the Treatment of Anxiety disorders in Farmington Hills. She recently authored the Workbook for The Road to Calm – a self-help guide to relaxation and stress management. Susan Salinger is the director of the Detroit Chapter of Hazon, a Jewish environmental organization working to build a healthier and more sustainable Jewish community. Hazon maintains the community garden at Jewish Ferndale, which is divided into three sections: the meditative garden, community vegetable garden and senior living herb garden. Chana Finman is leading the Origin of Creativity workshop – a hands on interactive experience whereby the participants will understand how achieving spiritual balance can be attained through art. Chana Finman has led and coordinated art seminars, shows, lecture series and festivals on three continents.
The goal of the Day of Healing is to provide a networking opportunity for women of the Jewish community to make new friends, learn to deal with a variety of life’s challenges, relax and enjoy their Judaism. The program is crafted with sensitivity so that all participants will feel a sense of inclusion. The focus is on personal creativity as a tool to take on life’s difficulties to fight despair and bewilderment.
