Jews and Economics with Rabbi Gutmann

May 1 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00pm on Monday, repeating until May 8, 2017

Cost: Free

Join Rabbi Gutmann for one or all three sessions as we examine some of the most significant Jewish texts about Economics. Discussing money is generally avoided in polite circles, and, at the same time, so much of one’s personal happiness, fulfillment, or failure depends upon it.  When we discuss and critique economics, this discussion is more than an academic exercise, it is a critique of how we live.  What does Judaism have to say about these things—about competition and taxation, prices and profits, welfare and the public good?  About all these, the Rabbis are anything but silent.  RSVP to cspektor@tkolami.org or (248) 661-0040.
