Metro-Detroit Jewish Senior Prom (Volunteer and Non-Senior Atendee Registration)

June 9 @ 2:00 PM4:00 PM EDT

Let’s come together for an intergenerational Jewish Senior Prom celebration at
the former Durfee Middle School! a predominantly Jewish school in Detroit from
the 40s-80s that has been repurposed into a community hub for non-profits
(including Repair the World!). On _June 9th from 2-4pm_ we will welcome
residents from Jewish Senior Life to nosh, dance, and take part in a memorable
occasion where participants 9th grade & up can come together to celebrate
community and connection.

**This event will not be possible without the support of volunteers** , we
ask that if you are attending as a non-senior that you sign up for **at least
one volunteer role** which will be sent out in a sign-up genius following your
registration. Attendees will still have the chance to enjoy the event and
socialize with seniors in our community. Some of these roles will include:
event set up, greeting and assisting seniors into the building, keeping the
groove going on the dance floor, and more to come!

As part of the festivities, guests will have the chance to enjoy kosher treats
while reminiscing about the past and sipping on nostalgia in the historic
setting of the former Durfee Middle School (some of whom will surely be alums)
school dance style! Reboot will be plugging in their Silver Screen Studio
project, offering attendees the opportunity to share and compare their
childhood stories and Repair the World will have a service project opportunity
focused on literacy equality in Detroit to honor the value of Tikkun O’lam
