God: It’s Complicated

May 7 @ 7:00 PMJune 11 @ 8:15 PM EDT

Who, or what, is God? Well, it depends who you ask! Join Rabbi Ariana
Silverman for a 5-part course exploring different perspectives on God.

If you’re not sure what you believe, or if what you believe feels different
from what you’ve read in the Torah or our prayer book, you’re not alone. In
fact, theologians have presented very different understandings of God over the
course of our history. In this class, we’ll explore some of those theologies
together. Maybe your understanding of God will become a little clearer, or
perhaps more complicated – in a good way!

Students are encouraged to get a copy of _Finding God: Selected Responses
(Revised Edition)_ by Rifat Sonsino and Daniel Syme.

Registration is available at a sliding scale from $54-$180. This registration
fee covers your enrollment for all five sessions, with snacks provided at each
meeting. Cost should not be a barrier to participation. For financial
assistance, please email Marisa at mahoney@downtownsynagogue.org.

Class schedule is as follows:
