We’ve all seen the endless stream of books, podcasts and courses promising to
increase our capacity, sharpen our edge and unlock the next level of success.
But what’s the toll of that relentless pursuit of productivity — and how do we
support people who are suffering under the weight of high expectations and
constant pressure? **Find out at _Under Pressure: Helping Perfectionistic,
High-Achieving People Find Freedom_** , a workshop presented by Affinities’
newly formed Mental Health Group featuring Paula Freedman-Diamond, Psy.D.,
author of _Toxic Striving: Why Hustle and Wellness Cultures Are Leaving Us
Anxious, Stressed, and Burned Out—and How to Break Free_. Dr. Freedman-Diamond
will lead us in practical strategies mental health providers can use to help
perfectionistic, high-achieving clients find freedom in a culture that
glorifies productivity.
We’ll get practical guidance on how to do the following:
* Identify how personality variables (“nature”) interact with cultural conditioning (“nurture”) to create patterns of rigidity and self-criticism
* Recognize the ways these patterns contribute to symptoms of anxiety disorders, eating disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder
* Integrate tools from evidence-based practices including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Intuitive Eating to help clients detach self-worth from performance
$36 per person.
