The Book of Isaiah is the biblical text to which Jews and Christians alike
turn to understand God’s vision for a just, compassionate world, and how that
might be achieved in messianic times. However, some key parts of this ancient
book are read quite differently by Jews and Christians. Join Rabbi Aaron Starr
of Congregation Shaarey Zedek and Father Chris Yaw of St. David’s Episcopal
Church to explore the role of Isaiah’s teachings in Jewish and Christian
thought, the history of the Book of Isaiah, and how certain verses of the text
unite and divide Christians and Jews. There is no cost to attend, but
registration is requested.
