Balance, Falls and Brain Health

July 17 @ 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

Cost: Free

Join Mind University for a free brain health workshop on balance, falls and brain health. We’ll discuss the latest research on the connection between balance and brain health, including the complex sensory systems our brain uses to help us keep our balance. We’ll review risk factors for falls and give actionable steps for simple exercises to challenge and maintain our balance so that we may build movement confidence as we age.

Speakers

Brittany Denis, PT, graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors of Biomedical Science with a minor in Nutrition in 2009, and from Des Moines University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2013. She is passionate about helping people improve their movement so they can continue doing the things they love.

Allen Hus, OTR/L, graduated from Western Michigan University in 2012 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. He is passionate about keeping people in their homes, preventing falls and improving chronic pain.
