Philanthropy isn’t just about fundraising it’s about building a shared mindset
where every professional plays a role in advancing mission and community. In
this introductory session, Mark Shapiro, President & CEO of the Milwaukee JCC,
will share how his team began shifting their organizational culture and why
this approach has become a model across the Jewish communal field.
Drawing on his work in Milwaukee, Mark will introduce core concepts and
practical entry points for professionals who want to start thinking about
philanthropy as a collective responsibility. Participants will leave with new
language, fresh ideas, and a broader vision for how a culture of philanthropy
can strengthen both their organizations and the wider community.
In partnership between the Collective, and The J Detroit
