The many mystical and meaningful Jewish traditions that surround death weren’t
exactly covered in Hebrew school, which is pretty unfortunate, because they’re
some of the most interesting (and comforting) practices in our culture. Think
it’s about time you learned a little about death in Judaism? How about over
drinks? Then you’ve come to the right place! Whether you are curious about
shiva etiquette, want to get some background info for when you become a
mourner, or are interested in learning how to comfort friends and family
during a loss, this conversation is for you. We’ll be joined by Rabbi Jennifer
Kaluzny of Temple Israel to learn the basics about how Judaism conceptualizes
death and how tradition teaches us to interact with one another during times
of grief.
$10 per person includes one drink on us and snacks.
This event is intended for young adults ages 21 to 39.
