Growing Jewish: Cultivating your home garden from seeds to sustenance

April 16 @ 6:30 PM8:30 PM EDT

Have you ever wanted to grow your own food? Whether you have a windowsill’s
worth of space or several acres, now is your chance to learn how! Young adults
are invited to attend this workshop session, led by Stevie DuFresne of Flora &
Fido LLC, where we’ll explore the basics of home gardening from the early
planning stages to harvesting your bounty. Participants can expect to leave
with seed packets, workbooks, and an understanding for how to sow Jewish-ness
into your gardens.

Due to the generosity of donors, subsidized tickets are available at three
pay-what-you-can tiers: $10, $15, and $20 per person. Each ticket includes the
workshop experience, the physical workbook, seed packets, snacks and drinks at
Java Hutt, and a direct line to a local garden expert! (True costs are $25+
per person.)

Space is limited and advance registration is required! This event is intended
for young adults in their 20s and 30s.

The Well expects all participants to be fully vaccinated and boosted against
COVID-19. For those who are not, we ask that you wear a mask in all indoor
spaces. Of course, masks are welcome for all regardless of vaccination status.

**Learn more about Stevie DuFresne and Flora & Fido LLC**:
Stevie DuFresne’s journey growing food began 20 years ago when they started
working and apprenticing at local farms in New England. From there, Stevie
focused their college degree on sustainable farming practices, food systems,
and small business. They developed a particular interest in designing,
budgeting, and implementing farm and garden projects. This evolved into
working as a TA for farm and horticulture courses, writing the 5-year plan for
their college farm, managing commercial farms and greenhouses, consulting for
organic farmers, revitalizing an abandoned urban community garden, and serving
in various teaching roles throughout the years.

Flora & Fido LLC was created because Stevie saw the need for expert guidance
for individuals and institutions looking to make their food-growing goals a
reality. Starting a food garden, anticipating needs, and trouble-shooting
challenges can seem impossibly daunting, but Flora & Fido is here to help!
