Mindful Morning: A Walk, A Talk and A Doc!

August 22, 2023 @ 8:00 AM9:30 AM EDT

Join us for a morning of networking, health and happiness. We’ll start with
schmoozing and an optional walk through the Henry Ford outdoor wellness path
(weather permitting) and then, reconvene inside the stunning Greenhouse
Education Center to hear from two influential women in our region’s health
care.

Dr. Carrie Leff will speak about trends in women’s health including puberty
and adolescent medicine, treatment of eating disorders, mental health issues
and menopause. Shanna Johnson, president, Henry Ford West Bloomfield (HFWB)
will ****talk about how HFWB interacts with the community and the new behavior
health center scheduled to open in 2024. There will also be time for questions
and answers.

Coffee and light morning bites (dietary laws observed) will be served. Please
register before August 14.

**More about Carrie Leff, DO, Internal Medicine**
Dr. Carrie Leff is a board-certified Pediatrician and Internist and Certified
Menopause Provider who practices primary care for women and girls at Henry
Ford Health.

Dr. Leff is passionate about all aspects of women’s health, with a special
interest in puberty and adolescent medicine, treatment of eating disorders,
mental health issues, menopause and sexual health. Dr. Leff received her
undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and completed
her medical degree at Midwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.

In 2015, Dr. Leff co-founded (http://www.turningteen.com/), a
company that provides educational workshops about puberty for parents,
children and schools. The goal of the programs are to transition adolescents
through puberty without shame or embarrassment. She has a passion for
educating parents and children making her a sought-after speaker in the
adolescent and puberty space.
**More about Shanna Johnson, FACHE, President, Henry Ford West Bloomfield
Hospital**
Shanna leads the 191-bed acute care medical campus in the Metro Detroit
suburban area. In her role as President, Shanna works in collaboration with
the health system and hospital executive leadership teams and oversees the
hospital’s strategic planning and operations. Her focus is on creating a high
quality, safe environment while emphasizing patient, employee and physician
engagement. The West Bloomfield campus redesign and growth of key clinical
services are also major priorities.

Shanna is a transformational leader who understands engaging all team members
through innovation and collaboration. She earned both a Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology and a Master of Health Services Administration degree from the
University of Michigan.
