Native Plant Exploration Series: Wildflower Walk

July 13, 2023 @ 6:30 PM8:30 PM EDT

**Update: Due to the rain and potential storms on Wednesday 7/12, this program
is taking place on Thursday 7/13!**

The temps are rising! The sun is shining! The plants are in full bloom! Which
plants though? Let’s go for a walk through Eliza Howell Park in Detroit to
check out southeast Michigan’s native plants in all their mid-summer beauty,
led by Esha Biswas, who guided our seed planting in April. During our trek
through this wildlife haven, Esha will teach us how to identify native plants
while Rabbi Jeff teaches us how species identification relates to the torah.
We recommend long pants, close-toed shoes, sun protectant, bug spray, and your
refillable water bottle. (Really, it’ll just be a mild walk. No hiking
experience necessary.) **If there is inclement weather on July 12th, this
event will take place on July 13th.

The Well’s Native Plant Exploration Series exists thanks to funding from
Adamah’s Seal of Sustainability and Shomrei Adamah programs. There is no cost
to attend, but advanced registration is requested. This event is intended for
young adults in their 20s and 30s.

We expect all participants to be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. For
those who are not, we ask that you wear a mask while in indoor spaces. Of
course, masks are welcome for all regardless of vaccination status.
