**Rabbi Starr** will lead the panel with **Senator Jeremy Moss and****Gilda
Z. Jacob **
on the topic of: _The Challenges Facing Jewish Politicians in Michigan._
**_Jeremy Moss_** holds the distinction of having been the youngest-ever
elected official on the Southfield City Council. After City Council, he was
elected to the Michigan House of Representatives, serving as the Democratic
Caucus Whip, and then became the Assistant Democratic Leader in his first term
in the Michigan Senate. He currently serves as President Pro Tempore of the
Michigan Senate. Senator Moss is also the only Jewish state-senator in
Michigan and has used his position to combat antisemitism and be a voice for
the Jewish community.
**_Gilda Z. Jacobs_** recently retired as president & CEO of the Michigan
League for Public Policy, following a 30-year career in public service at the
local, county and state levels. Gilda has won numerous awards for her work and
was inducted into the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame in 2019. She was named as
one of the 100 Most Influential Women in Michigan by Crain’s Detroit Business
in 2016. In addition to her civic leadership, Jacobs served as Co-director of
Development for JARC.
Gilda currently serves on the board of Promote the Vote, The Jewish Fund, the
Michigan Health Endowment Board, and Forgotten Harvest.
