**How can you make Jewish learning come alive through theater and play?**
In this dynamic, hands-on workshop, Jonathan Shmidt Chapman will guide
participants in exploring creative storytelling techniques that engage the
imagination and invite active participation. Together we’ll experiment with
methods such as guided narration, physical storytelling, tabletop puppetry,
soundscapes, and sensory storytelling — all using Jewish stories from Torah,
holidays, and tradition as our inspiration.
Participants will have the opportunity to experience these techniques
firsthand and reflect on how they can be applied in camp programs and
elementary learning environments. Whether you lead cabin programs, run
electives, or teach Judaics, you’ll leave with concrete tools to make Jewish
stories interactive, inclusive, and memorable for your learners.
Through imaginative play and theater, we’ll explore how to make Jewish
tradition feel vibrant, relevant, and alive for children of all ages.
**This workshop is open to those who work in Jewish Education.**
