The western belief in the soul leads to profound decisions on the nature of
life and implications for sustaining life. This belief also leads us to ask:
Does the existence of the soul differentiate humans from the animal kingdom,
requiring perhaps better treatment for humans than animals? Does the existence
of the soul differentiate humans from artificial intelligence (e.g., robots)
or might we one day treat robots the same way we treat humans? Join** Rabbi
Aaron Starr **for a conversation on the Jewish belief in the soul and other
aspects of humanity that make the human species unique.
Offered monthly and including a great breakfast, Wisdom and Coffee provides an
opportunity for learning and conversation on a Shabbat morning that is
entirely separate from our prayer service. Participants may choose to dress
casually and come just for the Wisdom and Coffee, or they may stay for the
Shabbat service as well. Coffee and a special breakfast will be served.
_Wisdom and Coffee is generously sponsored by Shelley and Joel Tauber._
