Suggested donation: $10.00/person\n\n\nAward-winning author and Detroit native Marcie Blumberg Maxfield returns to her home state to talk about her second book\, JewGirl: A Memoir on Being and Belonging (2025)\, with award-winning journalist Lila Lazarus.\n\nJewGirl is a bold\, funny\, and unflinchingly honest essay collection about what it means to be Jewish and female right now—in a world where antisemitism is on the rise and women’s rights are under attack.  With razor-sharp wit and fearless candor\, Maxfield mines her own lived experiences\, weaving them together with history\, politics\, pop culture\, and social commentary.
