DESCRIPTION:In the wake of the recent attack at Temple Israel\, our Detroit community has been deeply shaken. In moments like these\, we come together not only to support one another\, but to stand in solidarity with those facing similar trauma in Israel. Our safety\, and that of our loved one’s thousands of miles away\, is inextricably linked. \n  \nUnited Hatzalah and Temple Israel invite you to a special screening of One Day in October\, the HBO documentary miniseries capturing the human stories of October 7th. We will show the episode “Ambulance\,” offering a gripping\, on-the-ground perspective of first responders risking everything to save lives. \n  \nAfter the 30-minute screening\, we’ll hear from our founder\, Eli Beer\, about how United Hatzalah provides life-saving emergency response and psychotrauma care during crises. \n  \nWhen terror strikes\, these responders run toward danger\, becoming the thin line between life and death. The conversationwill be moderated by Rabbi Jen Lader and will include a real-time update fromIsrael. \nWhen terror strikes\, these volunteers run toward danger\, serving as the thinline between life and death. Join us as we stand with them\, with Israel\, andwith one another. \nThis program is appropriate for teenagers; however\, due to the nature of thecontent\, it is not recommended for young children. \nAdmission is free\, with a suggested donation of $18 per guest. \nRSVP is required.
