SUMMARY:Public Lecture with Yossi Klein Halevi: “The End of the Post Holocaust Era”
DESCRIPTION:Please save the dates for a special lecture with Yossi Klein Halevi: “The End of the Post Holocaust Era”. Yossi Klein Halevi is a Senior Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem.\n\nThe post Holocaust era was a time of historical Jewish revival and renewal defined by the establishment of the state of Israel and success for Jews throughout the world\, especially in America.  It was a time marked by security\, influence\, and optimism about Jewish continuity. October 7 brought an end to that era revealing deep cracks and vulnerabilities. It sparked a need to reassess Jewish safety\, identity\, and peoplehood.   Join Yossi Klein Halevi as he unpacks what characterized the post Holocaust era and what this shift means for today’s Jewish communities locally and beyond.\n\nYossi is the author of the New York Times bestseller\, Letters to My Palestinian Neighbor and co-host with Donniel Hartman of the Institute’s award-winning podcast\, For Heaven’s Sake.\nCongregation Shaarey Zedek\n27375 Bell Rd\nSouthfield\, MI\, 48034

SUMMARY:NXG Presents Preparing for the Unexpected: A Conversation with the Pros about Life Planning
DESCRIPTION:Adulting\, like real adulting\, is no joke. Beyond paying the bills and showing up for work\, there’s planning for the future — and it’s not all intuitive. That’s why we’ve invited several professionals together to help us get started on some of the trickier parts of planning for the years ahead. We’ll be talking about everything from wills and guardianship to insurance and investments\, even end of life wishes. We’ll also tackle the difficult topic of caring for older adults\, be it your parents or grandparents\, and what role you can play in ensuring their wishes are respected and everything is in order. These topics apply to many ages and stages of life. Our goal is to have you leave with more insight and resources to help you make big decisions and set you and your family up for success.
